Mental health therapist

Our Mental Health Therapist position will provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health therapy to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and treating various mental health conditions while fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients. In addition to clinical work, the therapist will also be responsible for administrative duties such as documentation, compliance with practice policies, and collaboration with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy using evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, trauma-informed therapy, etc.

  • Diagnose and treat mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other disorders using DSM-5 criteria.

  • Maintain confidential and professional relationships with clients while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

  • Track and measure client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when necessary, including safety planning and referrals for higher levels of care.

  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare providers as needed.

  • Stay updated with the latest mental health research, treatment modalities, and best practices.

  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and competency when working with diverse populations.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, intake forms, discharge summaries) in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Follow all practice policies and ethical guidelines set by licensing boards (e.g., APA, ACA, NASW).

  • Submit required documentation for billing and insurance claims if applicable.

  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and training sessions as required.

  • Assist with marketing and outreach efforts, including networking with other healthcare professionals and participating in community events.

  • Respond to client inquiries, schedule appointments, and manage cancellations or reschedules.

  • Maintain licensure, liability insurance, and continuing education requirements.

Mental health medical biller

We seek a qualified and dedicated Mental Health Medical Biller to join our inclusive and affirming mental health practice. Duties will include insurance claims submission, re-submitting and appealing denied claims, creating and sending client invoices, recording and reconciling client payments, and communicating with clients about payment and insurance questions. This part-time hourly position may be performed in the hybrid model of in-office and telecommuting, provided certain privacy and security requirements are met.

The candidate must possess knowledge of medical mental health billing software, AdvancedMD, and insurance processes, as well as best practices in data entry and analysis. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an unwavering commitment to using inclusive and affirming language. The Mental Health Medical Biller is responsible for representing the mission and values of Aspire Psychological at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain pre-authorizations from insurance companies if necessary.

  • Ensure client demographic and insurance information is accurate and up to date.

  • Electronically submit claims to insurance companies. Investigate, resubmit, and appeal any denied claims.

  • Prepare and send statements and invoices for clients, documenting amounts paid by insurance companies and balance due by clients.

  • Record and reconcile payments from clients.

  • Communicate with clients about billing needs or questions.

  • Other data-related tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Current student or degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Statistics, QQPM, Accounting, Psychology, or related field, OR minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mental Health Medical Biller, OR formal training as a Certified Medical Coder. 

  • MUST have solid understanding and well-versed in AdvancedMD system.

  • Successful completion of background check.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and best practices in compliance.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to using respectful, inclusive, and affirming language.

  • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
