The health and wellbeing of our staff, network, and clients is of utmost importance to us. As the current landscape of COVID-19 is fluid and constantly changing, please know that we will do our utmost to keep you as up to date, and as quickly, as we can.
In light of the current concerns surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we are seeing a significant increase in requests for tele counselling in lieu of in person appointments. Therefore, we would like to offer support to all of our clients who may experience increased anxiety about being in a public place or have concerns about attending in person sessions at our office.
We would like to introduce to you our Telehealth Implementation on Doxy.me, which is an encrypted and HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR compliant telemedicine platform. Do note that we cannot carry out EMDR treatment via telehealth; however, we can pause our EMDR sessions until you feel comfortable returning to in-person therapy, if needed.
What You’ll Need To Attend A Telehealth Counseling Session
- Sign the Telehealth Consent on your patient portal.
- A location that is quiet, interruption free and with good lighting.
- A computer or smart device equipped with a web camera and microphone.
- Fast Internet capability.
- Please click the website link below to check in with your respective provider at your appointment time:
- At the designated appointment time, have your computer/smart device connected to the Internet and click the link above. You will check in with your name on the website and wait in the virtual waiting room online. The therapist will initiate a video call to start the session. When you accept the request, the session will begin.
To further support you as our clients at Aspire Psychological, we would also like to remind you to:
- Please contact your respective providers directly should you want to transition to telehealth counseling (providers’ contact information below); otherwise, we will continue our in-person session at the office.
- We will be offering a flexible 24-hour (instead of our usual 48-hour) cancellation policy should you feel the need to cancel/reschedule for health reasons. Please also contact your respective provider directly on this matter. We will also not permit entry to our office to any person who:
- Within the past 14 days has returned from a CDC Level 3 country;
- Is sick or exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms (ie. fever, difficulty breathing, cough, etc);
- Who has concerns they have been in direct contact with someone who is suspected to have COVID-19.
- We will try our best to maintain a clean and sanitized environment in our office, which includes sanitizing the check-in buttons, waiting area furniture, door handles, toilet seats, etc as often as we can.
- We have compiled a list of therapeutic tools to help alleviate your anxiety in this challenging time. We would be happy to email, text or give the infographic card to you digitally or in person upon request.
Above all, we will also try to accommodate you and your family’s needs during this challenging time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our owner, Cindy Chia, should you experience any hardship or worry due to school closures, temporary unemployment, financial hardships, lack of resources, etc. We care for your health and well-being and we would like to assist you in any way that we can.
We will continue to monitor events regionally, and will make any adjustments to these plans as necessary based on local circumstances. Please continue to monitor WHO for accurate and timely updates, as well as local government health sites for regional recommendations. For general concerns at Aspire Psychological, please connect with Cindy Chia via email, call or text.
